Situated in North India under the shadow of Himalayas lies a jewel of the Indian tea industry – Kangra valley. Kangra valley was relatively undiscovered until now. But we have been able to source the outstanding teas of Manjhee valley specially for Jaya Teas due to our connections with the estate.
The region is so beautiful that Dalai Lama, the religious head of Tibetan Buddhism decided to settle down in the nearby town of Dharmashala when he fled the Chinese invasion of Tibet.
The tea farmer in Kangra Valley is a relatively poor farmer earning a modest living. The farmer doesn't have the money to spend of expensive fertilizers and pesticides, so the tea is as natural as it gets. Try the tea that is not easily available in the west, and you will see why we decided to include it in our collection.
